RR Manual PT and Pelvic Rehab is not your average PT clinic!
We are a physical therapy clinic, specializing in pelvic floor therapy.
Why are we different? We are passionate about empowering patients through education and an understanding of how their body works. When you become a patient, you are part of a team to learn how to participate in your healing for the long-term!
Our specialty is pelvic rehabilitation treating dysfunctions related to bowel and bladder function, sexual health, pregnancy & postpartum, and menopause. We also have experience treating other orthopedic issues, which may be addressed during your therapy, as we take a holistic approach to how the body is working as a unit.

Pelvic rehabilitation is physical therapy that centers around the idea that your core muscles work together in a coordinated effort to effectively manage pressure and "set" the body to prepare us for movement. This is required for healthy habits in the bathroom, coordination of the core muscles for functional activities, and to breathe efficiently and manage movement of air with the diaphragm.
We will work with you to create healthy patterns of movement and teach you to sequence muscle activity to most efficiently breathe, use the restroom and improve core stability with the pelvic floor muscles, abdominals, and back extensors.
In addition to exercises, which will reinforce what you learn during your sessions, we are a manually based clinic. This means that we will look at your pain from a holistic perspective, taking the time to seek the underlying dysfunction, rather than simply trying to mitigate pain.

If you are coming as a cash pay patient, we are a "pay as you go" clinic, meaning you pay at time of service. Our cash pay fee is $150 for a 55-minute visit. The most common frequency is 1x/week, however, for some conditions, it is more beneficial to come 2x/week initially to ensure alignment and re-set muscle patterns. If this is the case, you may have the option of coming for 2 shorter 30-minute appointments. We are committed to working with you within your financial means and will do our best to maximize your appointments to meet your treatment goals.
Do you have any bladder leakage with coughing, laughing, sneezing, lifting, or changing positions? Do you experience urgency with either urination or bowel movements? Do you need to wear pads, "just in case" you have an accident while out? Do you know the location of every bathroom in your most frequented stores due to prior accidents?
Do you experience pain with intercourse, pain with urination, pain with your menstrual cycle, low back pain or pain localized to your sacro-iliac joint? Have you had a fall on your tailbone and now do not feel things are "right" in that area? Do you have pain with prolonged standing, sitting or lifting? Do you have pain in the area of your pubic bone?
Do you strain to use the restroom? Do you have abdominal discomfort from bloating and infrequent bowel movements? Have you had prior surgeries and been told there are restrictions or adhesions in your abdominal area? Do you have a job that prevents you from using the restroom when you feel you need to go?
For pre and post-partum care, there is a lot we can do to partner with you on your journey! Some of those things include:
If you are expecting, we can help prepare you for the changes your body will go through. We can also address musculo-skeletal issues you may be experiencing throughout your pregnancy. If you have already delivered, we can help re-establish healthy patterns for core function, changes you may be noticing in bowel and bladder function, and return to pain-free intercourse.
In addition to pelvic pain and issues related to pelvic floor dysfunction, we also have a passion for treating chronic pain. While looking at the body as a whole working unit and searching for the root cause of pain, manual therapy is often a different way of treating long-standing issues.

Ali Henderson graduated with her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1999 from St Louis University. She has 25 years of experience in many avenues of physical therapy. In the early part of her career, she focused on outpatient orthopedics, chronic pain, and pelvic health. From 2000-2012, she attended extensive courses specific to pelvic health, pre and post-partum care, visceral mobilization, digestive function, and courses to address chronic pain. In addition to this, Ali attended a series of classes with a focus on osteopathic manual treatment in Washington state. This approach looks at the body as a holistic working system, seeking out areas of dysfunction to address the root cause of pain, rather than focusing on the “area that hurts.” Ali was also a certified Pilates instructor from 2005 to 2013 and enjoys utilizing this type of strengthening in her treatment programs.
Due to relocation with her growing family, Ali sold her private practice in Washington state in 2013 and spent some years working in pediatrics in the school system and home health. Since arriving in Austin in 2018, Ali has been working in the hospital system.
At this time, Ali is excited to have the opportunity to return to her passion in the field of pelvic health, educating and empowering patients to participate fully in their treatment. She feels it is a privilege to take part in each patient’s recovery, offering a safe space where patients can gain confidence to live their best life!
In her free time, you can find Ali walking a trail with her family and dogs, hiking, taking road trips to national and state parks, and navigating the adventure of parenting 3 teenagers.
